According to ayurveda,
rheumatoid arthritis is the result of increased ama in the body. Ayurvedic physicians advocate that a disease is
caused due to the imbalance in the doshas, either in one or all of
them. These are present in human body in certain proportions and any
change in the equilibrium can cause diseases. Rheumatoid arhtritis is
an indication of aggravated vata and as a result, the patient
experience pain in the body. Ayurvedic treatments for rheumatoid
arthritis mainly aim at bringing the aggravated vata back to the state
of equilibrium and in this manner to a healthy state of being.
Ayurvedic herbal medicines are found to be most effective in fighting
rheumatoid arthritis. Ayurvedic massage with medicated oils is also
recommended for relieving pain and improving the movement and function
of the affected joints and tissues and also for stimulating blood
circulation. They not only provide relief from the pain associated
with
rheumatoid arthritis, but also strengthen the body tissues and
the neuromuscular systems. Excess of ama can be the result of poor
digestion and a weakened colon (part of the large intestine between
the caecum and the rectum; it extracts moisture from food residues
before they are excreted). This can end up in the accumulation of
undigested food and the building up of waste matter in the body and
the weakened colon allows the toxins to reach the joints. So the
excess ama is to be suppressed to treat rheumatoid arthritis. |

Our experienced physicians examine the patient; have a clear
understanding about the person’s lifestyle, food habits and his
general physique. This helps to identify the right cause of
rheumatoid arthritis in the person and then to implement the appropriate
treatment therapy specially designed to alleviate the existing
problems and to prevent its recurrence in future. The duration and the
method of the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis depends on the
severity of the disease in the person and the physical condition of
the person, age and similar factors.
